Castle is a map in Shell Shockers. Players can host or join servers on this map. The max amount of players in this map is 12. Castle is one of the oldest maps in the game, though the exact date it was added is unknown. It is a highly popular map for private games and is frequently used in Shell League matches due to its balanced layout, making it an ideal choice for scrims. Additionally, Castle is the most commonly played map for 1v1, thanks to its numerous hiding and peeking spots. The map is so widely used that each area has been given a specific name, which helps players communicate more effectively during league games. Teammates use these callouts to inform their teammates of the enemy's location, giving them a tactical advantage.

Overview
Castle is a medium sized map, and a very popular map among the Shell Shockers players. It is typically used for 1v1s and scrims. There are multiple levels, with a ground level and multiple levels above the ground.
Ground Floor (Red Area)
The ground floor area for the read team is made up of ladders going up to the upper floor and staircases and paths leading to the blue team area. There is also an area just in front of the very back of the map featuring a rock and ladders.
Upper Floor (Red Area)
The upper floor of the red team base is made up of ladders and stairs going down to the ground floor and there is a walkway at the very back of the map.
Ground Floor (Blue Area)
The ground floor of the blue area is mainly an open space which on the sides have ladders and stairs going up to the upper floor. The blue area is a little bit higher than the red.
Upper Floor (Blue Area)
The upper floor of blue base is just an area where there is stairs and a little bit of cover. There are also ladders on the right side of the map going down to the ground floor and a path connecting red base.
Callouts
The map castle is the most commonly used map in competitive scenes for scrims and league games. Classic 3v3, 4v4, or even 2v2 games are frequently held on this map. During such occasions, teammates use a specific callout system to reveal the locations of opponent players either through voice chat or in-game chat.

Tactics
Castle is a great map for using the Crackshot, as it offers many hiding and peeking spots. Shotguns and Whippers are also frequently used due to the map's fast movement areas and opportunities for surprise attacks.

- There was a jump exploit on this map that existed during late 2018 and was patched in Version 0.20.1.
- This map is a fan-favorite.

- Castle is the 4th map built by the Blue Wizard Digital developer Wabbits in 2018.
- The Castle block set was also created by Wabbits at the same time and is the only map he built using those blocks.
- Castle is the first map that allowed for rounded walls and more diverse block types (arches, barricades, banners, torches, etc.)
- This map is a common map to be played in competitive and ranked team scrimmages.
