Crowsnest is a medium sized map that is currently used in the private map pools as it many different weapons can be used and are effective on this map. The map consists of brick blocks, grass blocks and towers blocks. It was added during Version 0.43.1.
Features
It is a castle like map. With similar blocks from Enchanted. The map is similar to Death Pit as well. With a middle ground area and a bordering building structure.
Ground
The ground is grassy, and perfect for close range weapons. Staying in the middle can be risky, as it's fairly common to be shot by an RPEGG, Crackshot, and Free Ranger, from the top.
Top
The top is accessible by ladders. Ladders are built on red and blue sides of the map. The top is perfect for spawn camping/killing opponents, and a perfect spot to keep the Spatula in Captula the Spatula.
Balconies
One level below the "top" are the balconies, with each team having two-one accessible through an opening, and the other not. The balconies are ideal for camping, killing spawning and active eggs below, and provide a great way to hide from opponents. If you are being chased from the top, it's recommended to jump straight down, as you may land on the balcony. However, most players tend to miss the jump. If you're facing a close-range weapon and are near the balcony opening, it's a good idea to drop a Grenade into the entrance. The enemy won’t expect it, and even if they don’t die, they’ll likely take significant damage.
Tactics
This map is extremely good for a range of weapons. From Scrambler to RPEGG. Using a Crackshot on this map is good as it is medium close range and quick fire shots. With the new weapon balance using a crackshot isn't really that good as the scope takes long to close and that allows shotgun and Whipper players get closer to you than you want. Using a whipper or shotgun on this map would be the best option as it is a short range map with small and congested fighting areas allowing these two guns to prevail. The RPEGG is also often used on this map due to the high ground advantages, and very vast view from the top and balconies, especially in the gamemode King of the Coop.
Trivia
- During the Halloween updates in 2023 and 2024, the map received a makeover; The map got remodeled and Halloween themed blocks/features were added.
- Some key features that were added were: trapdoors, an underground bunker, ladders shooting up from the bunker to the top of the map.
