Sparta is a desert themed map in Shell Shockers. It was added in Version 0.38 and was in the private map pool until Version 0.39.3 but put back to the private map pool in Version 0.40.0. (June 2021). Later, it was moved back to the public map pool during Version 0.49.1.
Features
A special thing about this map is that it is similar to the map Feedlot but there are no flags and you can almost spawn anywhere. The map’s layout is similar to Dirt and Palace Siege but Sparta has an underground part whereas Dirt and Palace Siege do not. There is a pit in the middle to jump down into the underground part which has spikes. There used two ladders going up to the surface, but another ladder was added to a hole that you used to only be able to jump down in a secret update. (The one nearest to the area between the back wall and the field.)
Bunker
Beneath all the towers and structures lies a huge underground chamber (and tunnels). Accessible via openings in the ground, ladders, and stairs. Also in the center of the map lies a huge pit; players may enter the bunker from there. The bunker is divided into two sides (red and blue side). Players from either team can also spawn in. The bunker has a darker shade than the rest of the map. The bunker is a perfect place to camp the spatula, and have all your teammates base. With a mixture of close and long range weapons, staying in the bunker with most of your team is a great tactic. This unfortunately isn't an advantage whilst playing KOTC.
Tower
There is also a tower at the corner of the map which has two floors. The first layer is an area which has slabs connected to the top block, and for the top layer, there are some boxes to jump onto and take cover. They are connected with a ladder. The tower is in red’s spawning area if you are playing Capture The Spatula or Teams mode. This place is a common spot for long-range players to camp as there is cover, and they can kill anyone that tries to climb the ladder. If your team is having trouble with the tower, you can try to use a sniper and kill from the bottom of the ladder, though it’s very risky, and you may die. Another way, that is less risky, is by throwing a grenade up to the tower. The simple way is just to wait for someone to shoot an enemy somewhere else and while they are shooting, kill them. If someone is climbing the ladder and you are a good sniper, you can try to shoot them through the gap on the second floor because of the half-slabs.
There are sniping nests for the tower as well as when a enemy player is trying to kill someone else you can kill them when they are standing still trying to shoot.
Blue side
On the blue side, there is a back wall facing the tower. It can be accessed by two ways. One way is by jumping on a block onto a platform, then onto blocks to the back wall. (Next to you is a field.) The other way is much simpler. Just go to the place where there is a ladder to the underground with boxes around it, and jump to the back wall. The middle of the blue area has a very sneaky camping spot that, if nobody else is there, you could wipe people out on the tower.
Tactics
If your team is losing, hide in the bunker/passages.
The map is overall best for the Crackshot, due to the large view and many zones where players can get height advantages. The Scrambler and Whipper can also do well due to the many corners of the map.
