shellshockers

Haunted is a map in Shell Shockers. It was added in October for the Halloween update of 2020. It was added with the map Catacombs. The map is almost symmetrical. It is large and is prodigious in height. Its complex structure makes it one of the tallest maps in-game at the time it was added. That title now goes to Downfall. After the Halloween season is over it rests in the private map pool. The map has 6 floors and 2 of them are on circling to the top. The map represents a tower which decreases in width as it goes to the top. The map is good for all guns and if the map is used correctly you can stun and surprise other players with great competence and prowess like jumping off of a high floor and jumping on other players. The map has a rather similar structure to Enchanted, a map released in the 2022 Kawaii Event. For instance, the front side of the castle has almost the exact appearance to the one on Enchanted. With that being said, even the interior/main entrance are similar.

Features

First Floor

The first floor is on the edges of the map, as the building is central. There is sufficient ammo here, because of this it is prudent and perceptive to use weapons you feel may require a lot of ammo. It a place of spawning.

Second Floor

The second floor is small and accessible by ramps in certain locations around the map. The second floor is not very elevated from the first and because of its small space weapons like Scrambler and Whipper would prevail in this location. The second floor has stairs on the right and left leading upwards to the third floor. There are also ladders on each side (Blue and Red), respectively.

Third Floor

On the third floor, there is a small courtyard which has ramps that lead to the fourth floor and there are also ladders on the side. Ammo doesn't regularly spawn here - so it is wise to save your ammo if choosing to stay on this floor. The third floor is good for long-range weapons like the Crackshot as you have a good view of people below making it easier to kill people. Dozen Gauge players can also gain and profit from this floor as they can sneak on Crackshot players and get easy kills.

Fourth Floor

The fourth floor has a small space area but has a very good view of the first floor. This floor is very good for snipers, but Scrambler and Whipper players can benefit as well as they can sneak up to snipers. Crackshot players can track players on the first floor and easily kill them. When using Crackshot on this floor remember to keep apprehensive of your environs as people camping on the top floor have an excellent vision of you making it easy to kill you. If you are using Scrambler you can kill players who are camping to try and kill players on the ground floor and you can also kill players trying to climb to the fourth floor, similar to Crackshot players you must also be aware of players who are above you. On the fourth floor, you can easily go back to the third floor through the ramps that escalate upwards and then downwards. These ramps also lead to the fifth floor. For Crackshot players you can go behind the stairs as well, and you will have a clear view of players down on the second floor, not many players know about this so it beneficial, remember to review beside you because players may become aware of your scheme to camp behind the ramps and will appear gunning for your egg.

Fifth Floor

The fifth floor is very small and is just below the top floor. On this floor, there is a small colonnade which can be useful to camp with Crackshot to kill players because you get a very good view of players on the fourth floor, players trying to come up to the fourth floor from the third floor and players at the first floor which would require some great precision and exactitude because players on the first floor will be very far below you. As a Crackshot player on the fifth floor, you will often need to descend to lower floors for ammo, as the supply is limited. The fifth floor is part of the spiral that leads to the top.

Sixth Floor

The sixth and topmost floor is very small and has a pumpkin at the top which players can stand on. For Crackshot players this place is fairly good to camp on as some advantages and disadvantages may make you rethink about camping there. To start with, the top gives you a very exquisite view of the fifth floor, fourth floor, players trying to get the fourth floor, players trying to get to the third floor and players on the first floor. This outstanding and meritorious view of the map empowers and facilitates you to kill players. However, when camping here, you will be targeted and focused on by players on all floors of the map since other players can see you almost everywhere. The top floor also doesn't have much ammo to suffice and content your needs forcing you to frequently tour the other floors when looking for ammo.

Tactics

When on this map you must be attentive to your surroundings on all floors. As this map has a lot of camping opportunities it is best to use them to your advantage. All weapons can dominate on this map, depending on your skill, precision and awareness.

Try and use floors according to what weapon you are using. Use different skillsets for different weapons and adjust accordingly to your surroundings as this map is different on each floor. When using long-range weapons try and distance yourself from other players to make it easier to kill them and when using close-range weapons get as close as you can to them and use different techniques like strafing to avoid damage from other opponents. Sneak ups when using close-range weapons are compelling, impressive and stalwart when attempting to kill players as they will leave the player bewildered and confounded while giving you an easy kill.
