Wonderland, a map introduced in Version 0.50.5, was designed by ๖ۣۜͶⱮƤ » CrEggShot. It’s one of the largest maps in the game, featuring a large exterior and an expansive interior. The map’s concept revolves around a large mountain with intricate train tracks carved into its surface. As part of the seventh occurrence of Christmas Event, when Wonderland was added to the game, this map was adorned with many seasonal decorations.
Features
Overview
Wonderland, a vast and intricate map, features a towering mountain with scattered railroad tracks. The map’s interior is filled with narrow tunnels and hidden passages that all lead to the grand “chimney room.” For newcomers, getting lost is inevitable due to the map’s size. To navigate effectively, the Crackshot is highly recommended. While close-range weapons can be useful in confined spaces, long-range weapons are more effective when playing on Wonderland.
Interior
The Chimney Room (interior) is in the middle of the map. Jump-pads, side towers, ledges, and trees can be found in this area of the map. On the lefthand side of this room is a long stairway which leads to higher ledges. These ledges have openings to the grass outside, or trapdoors that lead to hidden rooms. On the righthand side is a larger tower that also has an opening where sniper-players can sneak in from some angles.
Exterior
The exterior of the map is made out of snowy blocks, grass blocks, snowy trees, etc. There are ledges and higher platforms for players to access. Furthermore, there are tunnels that lie on the ground floor (leading to the deep interior of the map). There are also jump-pads on the snow which players can use to get on top of the roof.
Glitch
Similar to the glitch on Quarry, players can kill others through walls. Logically, at the top of the map, there’s a cat statue. Players can hop onto it and then jump onto a super high ledge that's covered by rocks. Players on the bottom level can’t see the eggs at the top. This glitch spot is ideal for gamemodes like Captula The Spatula because the team can easily keep the spatula there. Newer players won’t know how to get up there. Eventually, the developers patched this glitch (they believed it was an unfair disadvantage for newer players to the game).
Trivia
- The map's original name was Railyard.
- This map is a community-designed map by BWD Discord server member named ๖ۣۜͶⱮƤ » CrEggShot after they came second in the BWD Level Design Competition 3.
- Even if it's not the winning map from the competition, "Wizups loved it so much while doing early reviews that he stole it (with permission!) and turned it into Wonderland".
